The book 'Returns - Becoming Indigenous in the Twenty-First Century' by ethnologist James Clifford is the inspiration source for this work. I followed his theory by analysing the differences between my past and my current lifestyle, realising how far it has diverged from that of indigenous populations over the last 50 years. A difference I call 'decoration': plastic bottles embody the concept of decoration and accumulation.
The work combines the natural product of lemon appreciated for its beneficial properties, with plastic bottles containing industrially produced juice, emphasising a reality that runs parallel to the natural world, hovering between the real and the artificial.
