ARCHEOLOGIA DEL FUTURO  2026

Installation,

Fragments of recycled fabric, rope

Sail dimension: 710 x 235 cm

Installation dimension: Variable

Taking its title from the novel of the same name by Sergio Carettoni, the work was born as a reflection on the fragility of existence and the possibility of recomposing what appears to be irremediably lost. Drawing on the imagery of sails, the artist recalls the crucial moment of leaving one territory in search of another, facing the hardships and unforeseen events of the journey. Often, one departs from an arid soil in search of a new grounding. Unlike a functional sail, this surface is not made of a single piece, but is articulated in a complex composition based on circular shapes.

The absence of sharp angles and the meticulous assembly of numerous fragments point to the need for a universal, symbiotic collaboration to resist the crises, losses, and depletion of our time. The installation thus resonates as a collective invitation, a poetic warning to rediscover cohesion and to finally return to putting our feet back on the ground.
