In colloquial lexicon, the term "milestone" is used figuratively to designate an event, work, or personality significant enough to be considered a landmark in a historical, scientific, ethnic, or cultural process.

Taking on the structure of a milestone, whose surface resembles written pages on which words representing gender, race and physical appearance emerge, the sculpture acts as a turning point for the dissemination of global knowledge in favour of equality and inclusion.
