This sculptural installation reimagines the figure of the fairy as both a symbol of fate and a beacon of hope. Made from recycled polyester waste from the Rosa Artificial Flowers factory in Tianjin, the lace-like fabric bears thousands of holes, remnants of artificial flower production, evoking the invisible scars left by globalization and neoliberalism: exploitation, inequality, and environmental degradation.
Textiles, here, become both metaphor and medium, threads of life, social markers, and vehicles for transformation. Like the blue-haired fairy in Pinocchio, the work invites reflection on personal growth, responsibility, and the possibility of change.
