NEITHER BLACK NOR WHITE  2020

Series of 12 digital photographs,

monotype,

Fine art printing on canvas

90 x 60 cm

The colour used for the creation of this work is neither black nor white, but includes the entire chromatic range of human skin, classified by the physician and anthropologist Felix von Luschan on a scale of thirty-six different shades. Indeed, at first glance the images are reminiscent of  fantastic landscapes, but on closer examination we discover that the different parts of the composition are only hints of elements recognizable in nature, since the structure of the forms does not correspond at all to that of the flora, but to the structure and to the colour of the human epidermis.
